Hi there! I’m Vanessa

Since 1987, I have dedicated my career to working directly with children and professionals in the early years sector.

My experience spans from being a Research Nursery Nurse at a local hospital to managing multiple nurseries in Hampshire.

I achieved my Early Years Professional Status in 2008 at Winchester University and am also a qualified Assessor and Internal Verifier for Early Years, a teacher, a lecturer for the Foundation Degree in Early Years, a Safeguarding instructor, and a Freelance Inspector.

My extensive background equips me to offer expert advice and consultation, helping nurseries and childminders excel and navigate the complexities of childcare.

I understand the importance of creating an impactful, stimulating, and enjoyable learning environment that meets the latest Early Years Guidelines and fosters excellent outcomes for children.

In 2018, I authored the #1 best-selling book ‘Are you ready for your inspection?’ and developed a related online training programme for staff

Nick has hosted a workshop at our Owners and Managers conference in the past and these are his views on how impactful the Owners and Managers conference really is!

“First of all, I just want to touch on, I have never been to any of these events before. And I went last year and it was amazing. I think part of the problem, sometimes people feel I don’t have the time to go to events. I’m too busy. I’ve got way too much going on and every person I spoke to at your event last year said, I’m so glad I came.

Not only was it a beautiful venue, it was a great community, a great group of people there, but everyone was able to get their questions answered, get to the nitty gritty. I saw every single person, every session that goes on throughout the day, everyone was frantically writing notes down and they felt because it wasn’t a, a huge gigantic room, it was a really lovely, beautiful environment.

It was a great opportunity to go and get their questions answered and just have that almost like one on one opportunity.”

Meet Maria . . .

Maria had been an Early Years Manager for over a decade, passionate but overwhelmed by the ever-changing landscape of early childhood education. When she learned about the Owners and Managers IMPACT Conference 2023 organised by Jigsaw Early Years Consultancy, she felt a glimmer of hope.

On the day of the conference, Maria walked into Kimbridge Barn, her mind buzzing with expectations. She was greeted by a vibrant community of like-minded professionals, each eager to share and learn.
